Welcome to Enzodane Great Danes and Ibizan Hounds! I had always wanted a giant breed dog. I was raised with my aunts’ Danes and upon getting our first house, I finally got my first Dane puppy. It so happens that I picked him up the day I picked up the keys! Danes really are “Gentle Giants” and have amazing personalities. After having one and getting to experience what it is like living with one, I understand how Danes get to be known as the “potato chip breed”, as you can’t have just one. I started out showing in obedience. After attending shows to compete and watching conformation, I decided that I wanted a show dog. I am very happy that my foundation was in obedience, because it taught me the training that is necessary for any large breed dog, before he or she become too big to control physically. Once I got into showing, I loved it! I have continued to selectively bring in or breed great dogs to my home that are not only "pretty" but several with great work ethic doing obedience, rally, barn hunt, dock diving or therapy work. In 2014, I chose to add an Ibizan Hound to my pack for my daughter to eventaully handle in junior showmanship. The Ibizan Hound keeps the Danes in shape running and it has brought more events to my portfolio of activities to do with my dogs. Plus, hounds are so much fun! I had several wonderful mentors over the years. There is so much to learn about each breed in regards to health, diet, grooming, ring craft and training. I strive to meet the AKC standard and am an AKC Breeder of Merit for the breeds to which I am involved; but with equal importance, I balance health and temperament. I put consideration on longevity and sweet dispositions in the dogs that I breed, purchase or use as stud. Thus, it is my goal to ensure my fur kids are exemplary ambassadors of the breeds to which they belong. While my dogs are “show dogs”, they are family members first and foremost and spend more time on the couch or playing than at shows! I am a member of The Great Dane Club of America, The Great Dane Club of Arizona as well as the Ibizan Hound Club of the United States. I sit on the Board of Directors for both the GDCAZ and GDCA and am a licensed AKC judge for several breeds.
